Adventures in Russia in Brief

What is an adventure? It is a situation, in which dangerous or unusual things may occur. Which adventures can you find if you travel Russia?

For different people, adventures have different nomination: for one person to go to another country and stay at a hotel is already adventure, for another, the main condition is to be active, try everything and everywhere new.

Russia is a country that can gratify the curiosity of different personalities. The challenges for foreigners, especially from Western countries, will begin already after crossing the border. The Russian language has Cyrillic alphabet unlike western languages, that's why it's better to buy a phrasebook beforehand to understand the simplest sentences and signs, or to hire an interpreter. But...everything isn't so easy; find out which part of Russia you go to (see maps of Russia) and which language is used there, because there are other languages in use apart from the official Russian.

Next challenge is drinking (more about eating and drinking in Russia). Russian people drink more highly-alcoholic beverages than elsewhere. The most popular one is vodka. Don't try to keep up with Russian friends. It's better to taste, but not to drink a lot, because the adventures will begin at once, very often dangerous: it may be a fight in the club, stealing of your things, or you can simply get lost, especially in the megapolises. Even native Muscovites, for example, don't know all streets and the structure of the popular Metro in Moscow perfectly.

Some prefer active rest! Travel Russia if you're a such person! There are perfect opportunities to be engaged in climbing in the mountains (the Caucasus (the highest mountain in Europe and Russia - Elbrus), Ural Mountains, the Verkhoyansk Range etc.), hunting in the forests (take care about an official permission beforehand), or just crossing the country from north to south or from east to west by car! The last one seemed to be common, but V. Gogol' (a Russian writer; read more about art in Russia) has already said several centuries ago: "Russia has two disasters: fools and roads".

Travel Russia and enjoy the adventures!
