Moscow is the capital of the Russian Federation. It is a center of cultural, social and economic life of Russia. Moscow is situated on the Moskva River the location of which you can find out on maps of Russia.

There are about 10,382,754 inhabitants (according to the 2002 Census) in Moscow, but it's only an official figure. It doesn't include illegal individuals who seek better life in Moscow.

Mayor is the head of Moscow. Now Yurii Luzhkov possesses this position.

Red Square is the most well-known square in Moscow. The square separates the Kremlin from a historic merchant part, called china-town. 

Moscow was the hostess of Summer Olympics in 1980.
